Congress had a pretty busy week in Washington, D.C. – here’s a recap.
The August District Work Period is coming to a close, and next week Members of the House head back to D.C. for votes.
At the end of summer, many eighteen-year-olds head off to continue their education. Some go to vocational schools, community college, or four-year universities. But a unique set of individuals head to a different “college” in June.
Washington, D.C. – Today, U.S. Representative Dusty Johnson (R-SD) announced six Service Academy appointments of South Dakota students and residents. They will begin their military training at their respective schools this summer.
On Monday, I was honored to provide some remarks at the Sioux Falls Memorial Day commemoration. Memorial Day rightfully honors those who have died in service to their country, acknowledging their tremendous sacrifice.

“Removing services from the Hot Springs and Fort Meade facilities, and consolidating health care services in Rapid City and Sioux Falls, would substantially reduce high-quality care options for those veterans who have benefited from access to rural VA services in South Dakota.”
Last week, I was informed by Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN) 23 Director Robert McDivitt and the Biden Administration of recommended in-patient service closures that follow a multi-year nationwide review of (Veterans Affairs) VA services
