More on Border Security
Washington, D.C. – U.S. Representative Dusty Johnson (R-S.D.) voted to pass the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act and the PreventingViolence Against Women by Illegal Aliens Act.
BIG Update
On Monday, January 6, I attended the Joint Session to count electoral votes of the 2024 election, confirming that President Donald Trump won the election. With less than two weeks until the inauguration, I’m looking forward to having a president in the White House who will help secure the border, cut spending, get tough on China, and make government more efficient.
BIG Idea
Over the past four years, Americans have been burdened by the results of the Biden Administration’s policies, like an open border, high inflation, mandates that are increasingly difficult to meet for energy production, vehicle emissions, health care, firearms, and more.
Washington, D.C. – Today, U.S. Representative Dusty Johnson (R-S.D.) released the following statement:
“My friend Kristi Noem is a fantastic choice for Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security. She knows how important it is to protect our country and has demonstrated strong work ethic as South Dakota’s governor. I’m confident Kristi will secure the southern border and keep America safe.”
Washington, D.C. – Today, U.S. Representative Dusty Johnson (R-S.D.) released the following statement:
“Congratulations to President Donald Trump on his return to the White House. I’m excited for an opportunity to secure the border, grow our economy, and improve the lives of South Dakotans. It’s time to leave behind the burdensome policies of the Biden Administration. I look forward to partnering with Trump and Congress to get America back on track. Let’s get to work.”
BIG Update
South Dakota's support for our men and women in blue was on full display this week when I joined more than 2,000 law enforcement officers and supporters at the annual Law Enforcement Appreciation Dinner. In a highly divisive and sometimes violent time, these officers run into dangerous situations to save lives. I’m grateful for all they do to keep our communities safe.
BIG Update
For years, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has said that sanctuary cities create a public safety threat and are one of the biggest impediments to ICE’s public safety efforts. A sanctuary city’s refusal to cooperate with ICE puts local law enforcement officers in danger.
BIG Update
President Biden’s performance during the debate a couple weeks ago was very concerning. Americans deserve a Commander in Chief who is up to the task, and it’s clear that Biden is not capable to fulfill the responsibilities of the office. It is not safe for the American people or the future of our country if Biden continues to run the administration.

Despite the mounting chaos of an election year and the recent frenzy to fund the federal government, South Dakota's lone Rep. Dusty Johnson says he has continued to focus on some big priorities — like China and the southern border.
