I’ve recognized over 60 Vietnam-era veterans so far this year, including eight veterans in Hot Springs this week. These men and women answered the call to serve, and we owe them the gratitude they didn’t receive when they returned home after the Vietnam War.

In the heart of America, Mount Rushmore represents these core principles. I’m glad fireworks will return next year, lighting up the sky above the monument in celebration of 250 years of our great country.

For too long, the United States has resisted creating a regulatory framework for digital assets. That’s not a strategy – it’s a surrender. My bill, the Digital Asset Market Clarity (CLARITY) Act would establish clear rules of the road for digital asset regulation, giving certainty to developers and consumers. This week, the CLARITY Act passed the House Agriculture Committee by an overwhelmingly bipartisan vote of 47-6.

The 250 students at Girls State in Vermillion had great questions and high enthusiasm about being civically involved. We had a great conversation about politics and policy in D.C., why that matters in South Dakota, and the importance of civility in politics. The American Legion Auxiliary always puts on a great event, and I was happy to join them.

I voted to pass the House’s One Big, Beautiful Bill, which is a strong, conservative package that prevents the largest tax hike in American history while saving $1.6 trillion, the largest spending reduction in a generation.
The bill secures our borders by finishing thousands of miles of walls and barriers and hires thousands more Border Patrol and ICE personnel. It also funds the enforcement of the successful “Remain in Mexico” policy.
