"Last Wednesday was a tragic event in our country's history. Those who turned to violence must be held accountable for their actions, although political leaders deserve some blame, as well. That was true as violence rocked our cities last summer, and it is just as true now.

Washington, D.C. – Today, U.S. Representative Dusty Johnson (R-S.D.), in an attempt to increase public discussion about the COVID-19 vaccine, is asking South Dakotans to vote when he should receive his shot.

"Some elected officials, like Vice President Mike Pence, are getting the vaccine early to increase public confidence and model good behavior," Johnson said. "Other leaders are waiting, not wanting to go to the front of the line. Good arguments can be made on both sides, which is why I want South Dakotans to help with this decision."

Washington, D.C. – On Friday evening, a bipartisan, bicameral surprise billing agreement was announced by the House Ways and Means Committee, the House Energy and Commerce Committee, the House Education and Labor Committee, and the Senate Health Committee. Surprise billing has been a priority of U.S. Representative Dusty Johnson (R-S.D.) during his first term and this package will be included in an end of year omnibus bill.

Samyok Nepal Congressional App Challenge winner

Washington, D.C. – Today, U.S. Representative Dusty Johnson (R-S.D.) congratulated Congressional App Challenge winner, Samyok Nepal, a student from Brookings High School. Nepal designed an app called Bobcat Notify, which alerts students on school closures for snow days.
