SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KSFY) - Congressman Dusty Johnson took a break from the politics of Washington to make a stop in South Dakota.
He toured Southeast Tech in Sioux Falls Thursday morning before attending a discussion with the Farmer's Business Network.
Johnson said the schedule in Washington is a grind, so it is nice to return to the state and explore the issues facing South Dakotans.
He said it is time for lawmakers on Capitol Hill to move past partisan politics and find common ground.

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Representative Dusty Johnson (R-S.D.) issued the following statement tonight in response to President Donald J. Trump's 2019 State of the Union Address.
"I was encouraged by President Trump's call for unity and bipartisanship during a time where we seem so divided. I came to Congress to find solutions to complex problems, and I truly believe the best solutions arise when we work together.
Washington, D.C. – U.S. Representative Dusty Johnson (R-S.D.) today announced his appointment as Ranking Member of the House Agriculture Subcommittee on Nutrition, Oversight and Department Operations. Rep. Johnson was appointed to this position by Committee Ranking Member Conaway.
Back in November, I was first struck by the unabashed enthusiasm my colleagues expressed during the office lottery – a relatively mundane process where future members of Congress select their office space in an order depending on a number picked at random.
