BIG Update

Many in South Dakota continue to experience issues with the United States Postal Service. Delivery delays and lack of service impact families and businesses across the state. This week, I sent a letter outlining the problems that folks are experiencing to the Postmaster General and committed to working with the Postal Service to find solutions.

Over the last several months, I’ve continued to highlight these challenges and urged Postal Service leadership to find solutions. I’ve toured the Sioux Falls mail processing facility with Rep. Pete Sessions, who chairs the committee overseeing USPS, and held roundtable discussions to hear directly from South Dakotans about how these issues are impacting them.

The Office of the Inspector General for the Postal Service is currently accepting feedback on services in South Dakota, which can be submitted here

BIG Idea

Maintaining a strong agriculture economy in South Dakota will depend on the next generation stepping up and taking the mantle. I have great confidence in our future agricultural leaders following my meeting with the South Dakota state FFA officer team. These students are committed to furthering the interests of agriculture and show an inspiring passion for South Dakota’s way of life. I enjoyed hearing their stories and reasons for promoting agriculture in our schools and beyond.

BIG News

The Senate Judiciary Committee released a report this week detailing Operation Arctic Frost under President Joe Biden’s Department of Justice improperly obtained and reviewed text messages from Members of Congress, including mine. This revelation demonstrates an unprecedented level of carelessness for the rule of law and the constitutional separation of powers. I’m grateful to the whistleblowers who brought these acts to light and to the Senate Judiciary Committee for continuing this Congressional oversight.
