Johnson Urges Pelosi to Bring Born Alive Act to the House Floor

April 1, 2019

Washington, D.C. – Today, U.S. Representative Dusty Johnson (R-S.D.) asked for unanimous consent to bring H.R. 962, the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Act to the House floor for an immediate vote, Democrats blocked the vote.

"For the 25th time, the Speaker of the House denied a request to bring the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Act to the floor for a vote," said Johnson. "This shouldn't be a controversial vote – babies born alive deserve full medical attention. She knows if brought to the floor this bill would likely pass, it's shameful she's preventing a vote."

Johnson signed the discharge petition for H.R. 962 the first day it was available to sign. Additionally, Johnson signed a letter to President Trump urging him to make a public statement that he would veto any legislation that weakens pro-life policies.
