Johnson Secures Committee Passage of Landmark Digital Assets Bill
Washington, D.C. – Today, the House Agriculture Committee voted to advance the Financial Innovation and Technology (FIT) for the 21st Century Act, a bill to provide historic clarity to the digital asset industry led by U.S. Representatives Dusty Johnson (R-S.D.), Glenn “GT” Thompson (R-PA) and French Hill (R-AR). Yesterday, the House Financial Services Committee passed the unprecedented joint bill out of their committee.
“The digital assets space needs a legislative solution to the regulatory hangups,” said Johnson. “This is the right legislation for the job, and I am glad both committees moved quickly to get our framework to the House floor so the digital asset markets can thrive. The FIT for the 21st Century Act provides the clarity the digital asset industry has been asking for and ensures the U.S. is leading when it comes to crypto – I’m proud of the bipartisan support by bill received by the committee today.”
The bill now moves to the House Floor for consideration.
